Get to Know Us
In August, 1995, the founder of J Kent Foundation lost her 16 year old brother, Joshua Kent, to a battle with brain cancer. What followed in her life was a severe and lifelong battle with major depression, which included several inpatient stays for suicidal ideation. She quickly learned that the mental health system did not recognize her as a qualified person to make recommendations for positive changes to the mental health treatment system. And thus began her dream of building a revolutionary, state of the art, accessible nonprofit mental health facility. This foundation was created in 2023 to educate the community and raise funds to make this facility a reality.
